How it All Began

Social Hour has been part of the Kimpton experiences since the very beginning. The tradition was inspired by Kimpton founder Bill Kimpton, who gathered with his team every afternoon for an afternoon drink and conversation. Rather than holding formal meetings, he believed the best ideas, and the strongest connections, were made in a relaxed setting where everyone felt welcome.

That same spirit lives on today. What started as a daily gathering between colleagues has grown into a signature Kimpton tradition, bringing guests together over a complimentary drink in hotels around the world. It’s our way of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where conversations flow as easily as the drinks.
